A native of McKeesport,
Pa., Michael has mainly lived in Colorado and the desert southwest for the past thirty-five years. Michael received a BFA in painting and
design from Carnegie-Mellon University and has works in the collections of Times-Journal Publishing and the Carnegie Institute
of Technology. He has designed books and taught, most recently as a visiting artist at the University of Colorado. He also
owned 14 Window Press which published hand-made, award-winning serigraph art prints made in collaboration with various Native
American artists. As
a songwriter, he is an ever original lyricist always faithful to the freshness of words, thought and imagery. He has received
warm reviews for his lyrical content. More
of his music is on Neil Young's "Living With War" homepage. You
can hear his version of George Harrison's "The Inner Light" on Denver's FM station KQMT 99.5, The Mountain
on Breakfast With the Beatles program. The Inner Light was voted by listeners as Number Four in the Top Ten most requested
Beatle covers on Archer's Sunday morning Beatles program. His original song, Cry Like Water, was played on KQMT at the
first on-air anniversary of 9/11, even though this song really commemorates the tragedy of Tibetan rule by China!
Currently Michael is renewing
his interest in musical collaborations.
